The Social Services Council seeks to provide social services to individuals of Lithuanian descent requiring assistance. These services include social, informational, legal aid, medical, as well as direct assistance to individuals and families in need.

The Council publishes "Pensininkas (The
Retiree)," a senior citizens magazine for Lithuanian readers as well as informational columns in Lithuanian newspapers and magazines.

The Council also assists the people of Lithuania
via a number of special committees, such as "Lithuanian Children's Hope" and others.
