LAC is for people of Lithuanian heritage regardless of where they were born
or how long they have been living in the U.S., or how many generations ago
their ancestors came to this country. And non-Lithuanian spouses are one of
us also.
The Lithuanian American Community, Inc., (LAC) is the network that keeps us
connected. We have 60 chapters in 27 states and the District of Columbia.
Where there are Lithuanians but no LAC chapter, entrepreneurial individuals
are urged to organize a new chapter (get in touch with the
LAC Executive Committee for guidance).
Since getting organized in 1951, LAC has worked to nurture Lithuanian
cultural identity, to transmit it to the young, and to persuade everyone of
Lithuanian descent to enrich their lives by interacting with others of
Lithuanian heritage.
LAC has many ties with the country of our heritage, Lithuania. We are
interested in strengthening Lithuanias democratic institutions, especially
of its non-governmental organizations, and we support all efforts to work
for the betterment of Lithuania.
There is much to do and people to meet! JOIN
